Sports scoring that drives your broadcast graphics.
One person. One browser source.

Keep the book on a tablet or laptop. The scorebug and stat cards fill themselves in on your stream. Scoring is free. The graphics are part of the Press Row Suite, with a 14-day trial and no card.

The season starts in November. Set up before your first game.

Create a free account, then start the trial from your Account page. No card.

What your broadcast looks like (1:34). The real Hoops graphics page over a neutral plate, driven by live taps on the scorer's screen. Your camera feed goes where the plate is. Or watch first: the Start here playlist, 8 videos, about 10 minutes.

1:19.7 from the first keystroke to a scorebug on screen.

Build a roster by hand, start a game, turn Live on, copy the Graphics source URL, and add it to OBS as a 1920 × 1080 browser source. That is the whole setup.

The counter in the video runs in real time from a signed-in account. The cut is shortened; the counter is not. The URL does not change between games, so do the roster and the OBS source before game night and OBS needs no changes all season.

Hoops keeps a local copy of the game and syncs when the gym connection comes back, so a dropout does not cost you the book.

Nothing is typed twice.

The scorer's screen on the left, the stream on the right. Tap 2PT on the player who scored: the scorebug updates, and the player has two points in the box score. A foul is one tap on the player. Top Scorers is one key. Undo reverses a mistake on both sides.

The fan page, the exports, and the season stats come from the same taps.

A link you post. No app, no account.

Within a few seconds of a basket, the phone has the score, the quarter, and the box score. Below that: score by quarter, team stats, each player's line, and the best runs of the game.

The fan page link and an embed code for the school website are in the Broadcast dialog. Live sharing is part of the Press Row Suite.

If you already run a scoreboard overlay, here is the difference.

A plain overlay, free or paid

Shows the score you type into it. That is all it knows.

It is cheaper, sometimes free, takes less attention during the game, and you type the clock into it. If a score and a clock on screen are all you need, keep what you have.

Press Row Hoops

There is no score box. You tap the player who scored, and the score is a result of that tap.

  • Stat cards on the stream: Top Scorers, Team Stats, Quarter Scores, Starting Lineups
  • The fan page for parents
  • Box score exports and season totals

The trade: you keep the book, every basket, foul, and timeout. The clock comes from a ScoreBird feed or a Clock phone; without one, the scorebug shows score, period, timeouts, and team fouls.

Scoring in Hoops is free. The graphics and sharing are the Press Row Suite, $19.99 a month or $79.99 a year, with a 14-day trial and no card. Try both on a game night and see which one your crew wants.

Phones around the table. None of them needs an account.

One scorer on the laptop. The Clock phone runs the game clock on the scorebug. The Director phone puts Top Scorers on air, and Clear all takes it down. The Companion phone takes rebounds and timeouts, so the scorer only watches the scoring. The Announcer phone fires a smaller set of cards; if the two clash, the Director's board wins.

The links are under Crew phone links in the Broadcast dialog and work for that game only. Three or four people, one game, one set of numbers.

One URL. 1920 × 1080. Set it once.

In OBS, add a Browser source with the Graphics source URL, set it to 1920 × 1080, and leave the rest at its defaults. The page is already transparent, so there is no chroma key and no background color to set. Turn Live on for each new game and OBS needs no changes all season.

For vMix titles, the Data feed has a Flattened format: add it as a JSON data source polling once a second, then bind fields to your titles. vMix can also take the Graphics source URL as a Web Browser input at 1920 × 1080 with a transparent background.

Step-by-step OBS, vMix, and NewBlue Captivate guides are under Help inside Hoops.

Everything else

Every screen and switch has its own short video.

Six playlists on the Press Row Hoops channel, grouped by what you are doing, plus one complete walkthrough.

Also in the Suite

Gridiron, Diamond, and Volleyball.

The same idea in each sport: keep score once, and the graphics follow. One subscription covers all four apps.
